As a researcher, you all guys know the importance of writing effective research articles. The way of representation of all data reflects the quality of your work. Most people ignore small things while writing, and as a consequence, most of the articles get rejected by the editorial board.
Here I am giving you some tricks that may improve your writing skills.
1. Identify the purpose of your research. How will your work serve the scientific community👨🔬? To find out aspects of how your work is different as well as better than previously reported methods, Do a thorough literature review.
2. Design a layout plan of how you are going to represent your entire data.
3. Components of the manuscript:
* Title: Choose carefully, a super important part of the manuscript. It should be shorter, without abbreviation, and eye-catching.
* Abstract: Not too lengthy. Give the brief of your research with the uniqueness of your work.
* Keywords: Simple and shorter. Do not use complex keywords e.g., organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterial, instead use the shorter one ‘nanomaterial’.
* Introduction: Firstly, explain the problem and previously reported methods to solve that problem. Then mention the drawbacks of previous reports. Finally, introduce your work with accountable literature. Show how your work resolves former problems.
* Experimental section: This section helps the other researchers of your field to replicate the same experiment. Therefore, mention all the essential details regarding material and method used in this section.
* Result and Discussion: Write every detail of available data in the subsection. Do not repeat the experimental detail in this section. It makes your article too lengthy and boring for the reader.
* Conclusion: Precise as well as conclusive statement. Also, provide the futuristic scope of this work.
4. Use software like Endnote and Mendeley to add bibliography citations.
5. Visual graphics: Add a visual schematic representation to summarize your entire work.
6. Use the high-resolution figures for clarity.
7. Cover Letter: Write an effective cover letter. It can help you to “sell” your manuscript to the journal’s editor.
